APPROVED TARIFFS EFFECTIVE 1 JANUARY 2008
Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Tariff of Fees) By-laws, 2008
It is hereby notified that the Minister of Environment and Tourism has, in terms of section 129A of the Parks & Wildlife Amendment Act, 2001 (No.19 of 2001), as read with subsection (1) of Section 97 of the Parks and Wildlife (General) Regulations, 1990, published in Statutory Instrument 362 of 1990, approved the following by-laws made by the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority.
(1) These by-laws may be cited as the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Tariff of Fees) By-laws, 2008.
(2) The Tariffs payable by persons resident in Zimbabwe in terms hereof maybe reviewable at least quarterly with effect from 1 January 2004, such review shall be inline with inflationary indices for the Tourism Sector, published from time to time by the Central Statistical Office. The Director General shall have the right to review the tariffs.
(3) The Schedule to the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Tariff of Fees) By-laws, 2003 published in Statutory Instrument 43 of 2003, is repealed and the following is substituted__
SCHEDULE
PART I
A. - DAY ENTRY FEES
Note -

NB: All charges in this document include 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) and 2% tourism levy where applicable.

The operator's employees involved in illegal activities shall be liable to an individual fine of 10% of any fine charged to the operator or owner of equipment.

Clients who enter into Parks Estate without paying entry/river usage fees shall be charged double the normal fees prescribed in this gazette.

Depending on the inflation rate the Director General is empowered to review tariffs in the interim before the next gazette.
1) Day rates for non-tour operator clients cover single entry into a Park. Visitors who exit before the day expires will be required to pay for re-entry on the same day.
2) Tour operator clients will be allowed re-entry on production of copies of pre-submitted lists and identification details relating to entering clients, except for Rainforest.
3) Two employees of a tour operator are entitled free access per entry.
4) Rafting Operators will be allowed 5 employees free entry per entry.
5) Persons resident in Zimbabwe shall be charged the equivalent of the fees charged for
"Persons not resident in Zimbabwe" unless they produce positive identification of their Zimbabwean residence.
6) Visitors accommodated in Parks facilities and those entering and continuously staying on a water body shall pay a single day entry to cover up to 7 days.
7) Children-
(a) ALL children who are between 6 and 12 years old, shall pay half the adult fees
(b) ALL children under 6 years old, free
(c) Children not resident in Zimbabwe and are between 6 and 12 years old, shall pay half the appropriate adult fee as listed in column B
(d) Children not resident in Zimbabwe and are between 6 and 12 years old and are clients of tour operators, shall pay half the appropriate adult fee as listed in column C
(e) School children on school trips/ tours shall pay 50% of the adult's entry and river usage fees
8) Persons not resident in Zimbabwe are required to pay in Foreign Currency.
9) Regional Fees are applicable to Residents from SADC countries i.e.S.Africa, Botswana, Seychelles , D.R.C, Zambia , Malawi , Mozambique , Swaziland , Lesotho , Angola , Namibia , Tanzania , Mauritius . Proof of Residence from these countries in the form of a Passport or I.D should be produced and clients from the SADC countries should pay 75% of what is paid by other International clients.
10) Horse riding by Tour operators is not allowed in National Parks Estates where Parks and Wildlife offer the activity.
11) Operators and license holders who fail to renew their permits/ licences annually will be charged double the renewal fees upon renewal of their permits/ licences, in addition to a penalty fine.

NOTES
1. Buses - special permission is required and only for resident school children, senior
Citizens and the disabled.
2. Private vehicles and minibuses with a seating capacity above 25 persons, including tour buses and overland trucks, are prohibited.
3. Motor cycles are not allowed in the Parks Estate
4. *Buses other than those covered in note 1 above should get special permission from the Director-General.
5. Lorries for mining activities will be charged entry fees equivalent to that of buses.
